The small crag in the trees beside Bowling train station. The climbing is rather limited, but some of the routes are well worth a visit since John Watson cleaned them and added lower off bolts. The two boulder problems are good too.

Rock type: Basalt

Directions & Approach

Follow the stairs immediately across the road from Bowling train station, then turn right on cycle-path. The crag is on the left after the tunnel.

This eliminate but good problem climbs the wall right of Yosemite Crack. Use a long sidepull to make a difficult slap to a crimp and make a long reach to a flat jug. continue straight up using a protruding hold to gain a finishing ledge. The ripple just right of Yosemite Crack is out of bounds.

This excellent if eliminate problem climbs the vertical ripple in the smooth wall left of Eiger Suction, giving thin climbing. Climb the ripple to a good crimp and use this to make a long reach for a two finger gaston. Rock onto the good crimp and desperately and boldly stand up to gain the break and finishing ledge. The holds on highwayman are out of bounds.
