Help:Adding an article
From SCWiki
ScottishClimbs has a long (5 years) history of bringing you community contributed articles. With the advent of SCWiki it has become even easier for you (and us!) to add content. Here are a few guidelines to get you adding your next masterpiece.
- Firstly, you'll want to got to the Articles page and add a link to your news item. Load up the page and click the edit tab at the top of the page.
- Add your link with the following style above the last article item.
*[[Article title]] - dd/mm/yyyy A short description of the article.
- Please get the formatting right as it makes our lives easier and makes the site look way better.
- Once you've added the text save the page and then click the link you just made.
- Once the editing form has loaded you can add your text with the following formatting:
''Your Name - dd/mm/yyyy'' The text of the article should go here.
- If you want to add some pictures, feel free to do so.
- Hit preview to see what it's going to look like and if you're happy, hit save.
- That's really all there is to it although you should know that a new article does not show up on the Main Page until it has been approved by one of the staff.
Note: If your work is quite personal don't worry about anybody changing it - after the article has been approved it will be locked down so as to prevent any changes.
