Located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, 'Ratho' as it is known is a large climbing arena, with 4 large climbing walls and a number of static boulders.

Getting There
Easy by car
Public Transport
The Lothain Buses X48 service goes to Ratho village from where a pleasant 10/15 minute walk along the canal gets you to the centre. The service runs 4 times an hour, to Ingleston park & ride, but only 2 buses an hour continue to Ratho village.
Alternatively the First Group 27/x27 service stops at Wilkieston from where the centre is a brisk 15 minutes along a fairly busy road.
The Climbing
Leading
There are approx 40 leading lines.Probably the best indoor leading wall in the world with a huge variety of routes up to 25 metres in length.
Rope Length - 60m (50m adequate for most lines)
Top Roping
There are 45 Top Roping lines. Slabs, vertical walls and overhangs are all catered for. The 28 metre high Tower hosts some of the longest indoor routes in Europe.
Bouldering
The three free standing boulders provide all angles on featured surfaces. The new boulder wall in contrast will angular flat panelling with a high friction surface. Problems are reset on a frequent basis.
Outdoor climbing
There are some trad and sport routes outside the Adventure Centre in Ratho Quarry itself.
