'Footless' Gary Vincent from Dunfermiline, not known for his lack of strength, has been on a bit of a Bowden Doors mission over the last couple of months. Unsatisfied with a speedy ascents of Born Lippy and Vienna (both 7C), Gary succeeded on His Eminence left-hand variation, 7C+, in just a few tries.

His efforts culminated in the first Scottish ascent of The Crack, 8A, a couple of weeks ago. This deceptive toughie at Bowden Doors, that Ben Moon sketches up in the "Stick It" video, took Gary just two visits. On his second day Gary tried the bottom moves a few times before completing the grim looking top-out on his first attempt with relative ease.

Although Gary plans to get on some hard sports routes this year, rumour has it that Working Class, 8A+, will be the next to fall to the strong Fifer.
