Jump to: navigation, search

The Trad crag near the northern end of Skye on the eastern side, giving mostly low grade routes. There is also a small bouldering area

Rock Type: Dolerite

Directions & Approach

Park just over a hill (going north) about a mile past the Flod hotel (an excellent saturday night venue with good piping and ceildhs if staying in the adjacent hostel) and walk across a moor, dropping down an escarpment to reach the top of the crag. The rather small bouldering area is opposite (south) of the tunnel. Approach down a grass slope.

Bouldering

This nice grit like problem lies on a small jet black boulder lust above the sea at the bottom of the slope. On the seaward side it a small roof with two edges in the left side. start on these (toe hooks at the back) and make a hard move to gain the slopey lip. Pull over with further difficulty.

Just up and right of First Touch is a small outcrop with a leaning right arete. Climb this from a sit start, utilising an overhead wide pinch and small foothold at the base of the arete. The wall to the left will give an easier problem.

Just north of First Touch at sea level (tidal?) is a blunt black arete. Climb this.
