Hard Rock Challenge Completed

It's quite a challenge to climb all 60 routes in Ken Wilson's Hard Rock - a challenge previously only completed by two others, and it took them ten years.

The Raw Numbers: 60 routes, over 200 pitches and over 22,000 ft of climbing

The Hard Rock Challenge team of Mark Stevenson and Rich Mayfield set out to complete the routes in six weeks and try to raise £30,000 for the UK's Mountain Resuce Teams at the same time. They completed all the climbs at 13:55 on the 17th August, 36 days after setting out. The feat was made more impressive by the weather the UK has been experiencing - many (or most, it seems) of the routes were climbed in the rain.

Donations are still being accepted on the Hard Rock Website, and are gratefully recieved

You can read more about the Challege on the Hard Rock Challenge Website and check out the Hard Rock Challenge Blog for the day-to-day trials and tribulations of the team.
