The Chicks Unleashed website ( is now featuring the details for the 'Journey Through Scotland' which will take place at the end of July. Places are very limited, so if you're even just interested then do get in touch as soon as possible.

Chicks Unleashed aims to bring together women of all abilities & experience who share a passion for the mountains and would like to further their walking, mountaineering or climbing in an all-female environment.

All events are designed by women, specifically for women, and will be led by women.

The clinics are led by Britain's top female professionals, picked for their instructional experience and enthusiasm for the mountains and people they work with.

This event which will be held at the end of July 2004 is an adventurous journey through Scotland, taking in six of the most inspiring and celebrated mountainous areas:

Glen Coe, the 'spiritual home of mountaineering' the impressive ridges and munros of the Mamores Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis the wilderness of Knoydart the awesome ridge walks and abundance of munros in Glen Shiel Torridon, home to the oldest mountains in the UK. Journey into Scottish mountaineering history as we stay in some of the most remote, tranquil and scenic mountain huts and bothys in the Scottish Highlands. For those who want even more adventure there will also be sections where you can camp under the stars. Walk, mountaineer and climb, the choice is yours!

The journey will take place over nine days, but is broken down into bite sized sections. These are priced such that you will be able to book a variety of sections.

For example, you could pick 2 days mountaineering in Glen Coe (maybe going up Curved Ridge on The Buachaille and then along the infamous Aonach Eagach), and then head on to Ben Nevis, stay in the CIC hut and climb for two days (taking in NE Buttress and something on Carn Dearg).
