Dave Redpath - 25/03/2005

As part of this years Edinburgh festival of Sport Science Dave Macleod will be holding a seminar on the sport science of climbing. The event takes place at Edinburgh's Dynamic Earth on Sunday 22nd May. Dave will be covering some basic biomechanics of climbing, his own research, psychological preparation for dangerous routes and some history and ideas for future climbing equipment. Dave promises the seminar will be pitched an accessible level, so you don't have to be a sports scientist to understand it. Places are very limited so any climbers interested are advised to book early.

There are many other exciting talks going on too such as a brilliant one about some new and exciting nutritional developments related to using the correct mix of carbohydrates to avoid muscle catabolism and mobilise fat stores etc. There's also going to be some climbing films from last years EMFF shown.
