Paul Savage from Glasgow has been continuing to target his well-honed power this year on some projects.

First off earlier this year he succeeded on 'Knife Party' 8A, at Craigton, Dumfries along with a few other new problems in the 7A-7B+ category. Given a bit of further cleaning 'Knife Party' has been trimmed down to 7C+. As so often happens with problems of this difficulty it takes a few ascents for the grade to settle.

On a spring trip to North Wales he also sent 'Diesel Power' 8A, in Llanberis Pass. (For those that may be suffering memory loss, 'Diesel Power' is the Chris Davis steep crimp fest as featured in the 'Stick It' video.)

More recently Paul sent 'My Evil Twin' 8A/+, a 14 move straight up problem at Sandyhills Bay, Solway Coast. Paul had tried it on and of since February and in doing 'Diesel' he feels better able to justify the grade of 'Evil Twin'.

So one question remains, who will be Scotlands 'Chris Davies', any contenders?
