January - Hadrians Wall closes, may it RIP
February - Gary Vincent wins the Alien Rock bouldering league
March - The first ever dry tooling competition takes place in Glasgow, The Mountain Equipment Dry Tooling Competition


April - At this point in 2003 Ruben and April, (original members of the Alien Rock Empire) start rebuilding there 19th-century sandstone house. As featured on C-4 'Grand Designs'
May - Michael Tweedley completes the prominent arete project at Arrochar to give 'Precious' Font 7c
June - The School Yard Edinburghs dedicated dry tooling training wall is completed


July - Dave MacLeod completes Iain Pitcairn's old Tube project to create 'Hurleyburly' F8b, Dave subsequently soloed it! The steep left arete also climbed, 'Gone in 60 Seconds' at E7 6c
August - Scott Muir competes the much talked about 'Fast 'n' Furious' D12
September - Niall McNair makes the first ground up accent of 'Dalriada' E7 6b


October - New school activities at Newtyle Quarry go into overdrive. A number of new Dry Tooling routes are created to fill existing gaps
November - The Ratho Adventure Centre opens. The 2nd Mountain Equipment dry tooling competition takes place at Glasgow Climbing Centre
December - The Ratho Adventure Centre hosts the UIAA World Cup finals on 5-8th December. Scotlands first artifical indoor ice climbing wall 'The Ice Factor' opens on 27th Dec.
