'Touching The Void' star Simon Yates leads the line up of top speakers who will be appearing at the second Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival (EMFF), which runs Friday 8th to Sunday 10th of October 2004. Simon has climbed adventurous mountain routes across the globe and is firmly back in the public eye after the huge success of the 'Touching The Void' motion picture.

The strong cast of speakers also includes top climbers Andy Kirkpatrick, known for his epics and quick wit, and Dave MacLeod, Scotland's leading climber, known for his 'E9 Lifestyle'. Polar explorer Andrew Cooney brings a cool sense of adventure and wilderness while author & mountaineer Andrew Greig, accompanied by Liz Duff, completes the speaking programme with a lecture (and songs and poems!) on the life of legendary Scottish mountaineer, the late Mal Duff.

In addition to the speakers, 20 films will be screened (having been whittled down from over 50 submissions) and feature the very best action and excitement from the worlds of climbing, white-water kayaking, skiing and snowboarding, BASE jumping and adventure. There will also be exhibits of photography, poetry, art, sponsors stands and a bar!

This years festival takes place at the George Square Lecture Theatre at Edinburgh University.Tickets are available from branches of Tiso and from the Alien Rock Climbing centres. This years festival is brought to you in association with Presenting Sponsors Tiso and Glenmore Lodge
